SIMPLE Touch

Introduction

Sketches are the most important languages for children to communicate to the world. Children share their imagination, narratives, emotions, memories and beloved stories through sketches to parents, friends, and relatives around them. SIMPLE Touch introduces six important features: Symphony, Interaction, Mutuality, Play, Learning, and Education. Sketching in SIMPLE Touch is an interactive play and learning process for parents and children to get involved. With SIMPLE Touch, parents and children work and play together to make sketches act and talk in narratives as real world reflexions. Those sketch objects and children narratives can be further preserved as lifelong treasures by SIMPLE Touch.

Award

  • Third place of ITRI All-In-One Touch Panel Application Software Contest (AIO contest), 2010. The AIO contest was held by Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan in 2010. In this contest, I led a team to propose, design, and build SIMPLE Touch, which was a sketch-based interactive learning environment for children and parents. We won the third place and a chance to present SIMPLE Touch at ComputeX 2010.
